From Your Principal:

Hello Delta View Families and Community,

I would like to officially introduce myself as your new principal here at our school on the hill. My name is Mr. Joe Bruno and I am honored to be rejoining the Delta View Community. I come to our school with 17 years experience as an elementary teacher and as a vice-principal. I began my career by serving the Pittsburg Unified community at Parkside Elementary as a 4th grade teacher in 2007.  I came to Delta View in 2016 as your vice-principal and had the honor to serve and work with the families and students for a couple of years. In 2020 I returned to Pittsburg Unified to further my experience as a classroom teacher when the pandemic occurred, as this was an opportunity to support scholars in a very challenging time. Though I enjoyed my work, I felt a tugging to return to Mt. Diablo Unified as a principal. Thus I was excited and honored when offered the opportunity to serve the Delta View Community once more.

I also want you to know that safety is also a top priority here at Delta View.  I will work hard to support our scholars, the staff, our parents, and the community to ensure everyone feels welcomed, safe, and excited to be here at school. I enjoy moving throughout the school to observe our scholars learning, our amazing teachers providing great instruction, our excellent support staff assisting everyone, and our wonderful young-minds engaging positively with their peers. I welcome the parent community to continue to engage and connect with the school to support our greatest gift, your children. A great way to support our school is to join our PTA, who have done some amazing things for Delta View over the years. I will share more opportunities to engage and connect as the school year goes on.

Should you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to connect with me. You can email me at brunoj@mdusd.org, call the school office, or drop by (if I am available at the moment) to sit and chat with you. I am a firm believer in working together to ensure what is best for our scholars and school community. I look forward to getting to know our community once more.

-Mr. Bruno
